Stories & Supper headed out of London for the first time to Ledbury in Herefordshire, and the stunning surroundings of Canon Frome Court. We served up a global menu, alongside migration stories, and poetry from closer to home.
Oh My Coffee Shop, October 2018
Stories & Supper hosted its first Chingford supper club at the fabulous Oh My Cafe. The menu spanned Afghanistan, Syria and Sudan. The evening included stories from Phosphoros's Syed, as well as our long-term volunteer Seliman, new volunteer Laura. Plus Syrian comedy from Abdul.
Walthamstow Garden Party, July 2018
We took over a beautiful tent on Fellowship Island on the Saturday evening of WGP to serve the festival a menu of amazing storytellers. Plus we sold out our offering of Indian and Syrian street food lovingly prepared by Shahnaz and Ismail.
Gnome House, April 2018
Our first supper of the year presented Ismail's Syrian feast. A butcher since the age of 10 in Syria, Ismail worked as a hotel chef in Jordan before coming to the UK. He has been living in Walthamstow for 5 months with his family. He wowed supper guests with his stunning menu.
Hornbeam, October 2017
We held four amazing suppers throughout our residency at the Hornbeam, featuring four amazing chefs. We had a Sudanese feast from Hawaii, Syrian meze from Ahmad, Burmese/Bengali fusion from Mariam and Tasnim, plus Shahnaz's amazing Hyderabadi cuisine.

Stories & Supper spoke in the Community Marquee on Fellowship Island to spread the word about our vision. We also partnered with the Food for London project and the Hornbeam to bring Shahnaz's fabulous food to Garden Party revellers. We sold out, of course...
Studio 3 Arts, Barking, July 2017
Our friends at Studio 3 Arts provided a welcoming venue for our first Barking supper. With a Syrian starter, a Sudanese main and an Afghan dessert, our diners were taken on a wonderful food journey. Plus, we had spoken word from Usaama Minhas and Samer's powerful story.
Migration Museum, May 2017
We ran our first stall at the 'Spicy Eggs and Jungle Chai' event at the Migration Museum to remember the Calais Jungle. What did we serve? Afghan spicy eggs of course. Plus, a delicious date cake, which we first tasted in Calais when it was made by our friends at the Refugee Community Kitchen.
Today Bread, April 2017
Our first supper club event took place at the fabulous Today Bread in Walthamstow. We served dinner to 50 guests, who were treated to Shahnaz's pakoras and a main course cooked by Ahmad of Aleppo Supper Club fame. We were thrilled to welcome actors from Borderline and the sublime Sudanese singer Mohamed Sarrar.
